Women in the Church Ministries

      Officers:

The Women in the Church hosts or oversees many events in the life of the church:

• Dinner/Auction with proceeds going to Missions Trips
• Three special offerings each year:  Send the Light (Mission to World), Showers of Blessing (Mission to North America) and the Love Gift (various Presbyterian Church in America committees/agencies)
• Hosts an Officer/Staff Appreciation meal each year
• Oversees the Nursery, Kitchen, Library, Bulletin Boards
• Food Ministry for sick/shut-in and provides meals to bereaved families.
• Provides the committees for the monthly church luncheons
• Angel Tree Project – providing Christmas gifts for adopted families, children of international students at the Seminary in Jackson, MS.
• Food Baskets at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas for several local families
• Service Committee which oversees the polishing of the sacrament and altar silver and cares for the sacrament cloths.
• Oversees the Altar Flower Calendar
• Decorates the church during the various seasons
• Calling Committee to inform all members of prayer requests or important church information
• Committee that helps with Church newsletter and Weddings

Worship Services:

• Morning Worship service is a traditional service held at 11 a.m. each Sunday morning
• Evening Worship service is an informal service at 6 p.m. each Sunday evening
• Christmas Candlelight Communion Service: Call church for date and time
• Christmas Morning Service:  informal service held at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas morning
• Maundy Thursday Communion Service:  Held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.  
• Easter Sunrise Service:  traditionally held each year at sunrise.
